Princeville vs. Kappa a

How can you go wrong with an awesome large condo with everything included?
The place I stayed in Princeville was awesome but did not have energy.
I just checked in at the Resort Quest in Kappa a and it has an energy! There was a fund-raiser and a good mix of locals and tourist because of that. The Pool and bar area was rocking with tropical breeze and Hawaiian music. Kappa a has things you can walk to and Princeville you need a car for sure. Anyway, I like Princeville but a mix of Kappa is cool.

Beer coasters

Its popularity has spread across the pacific as far as New Zealand, but in ancient Hawaii, surfing was a community affair. While the best waves were reserved for Chiefs " dropping in " on them was punishable by death. Men,women and children all surfed. If the surf was too big the ocean was off limits: " the gods were surfing".

A Drive

After spending the morning by the pool I got in the car and took a drive. "The drive " always leads to awesome discoveries. A right turn here and a left turn there. Awesome!

Hot Tub

Last night about 12:30 I headed to the hot tub for a soak before bed.
Took a few beers and a cigar with me and set out for the tub. When I got there I noticed
what looked like a pile of clothes. I reached over and lifted it up and saw it was in fact a bikini and some shorts. I looked around and saw nobody so I went about relaxing and drinking my beer. Between the hot tub and the pool is a waterfall, when I looked around I could not see all of the pool. All of a sudden I hear, "hey Dude, um Buddy. Could you toss our stuff over here into the pool"? Of course I played doumb, gave them a hard time. Ended up tossing the stuff into the pool, they got dressed and left. I never got a good look. I have an idea who it was but will never know for sure.

More liqour wisdom

It's 80 degrees and sunny as sunny can be! I think to myself, what could make this better?
1st idea not available to me.
2nd idea not available to me.
3rd idea I could workout but it would take work.
4th idea all i have to do it go to the fridge.

An ice cold bottle of beer.

I have a case of Kona Longboard Island Lager that's cold as cold can be! (sunny as sunny can be )

As it turns out the stuff tastes awesome! On the inside of each cap they even teach you something.

Cap#1 HONU means turtle

#2 HIPAHIPA means cheers

#3 Aloha means hello

#4MO'O means lizard

How much more can I learn in one evening?

Coffee

I went on the Kauai coffee tour yesterday, only because I was driving along the south coast and happened to pass it. The good thing is this morning I have a hot cup of some of the freshest coffee i have ever had in my life. Driving on Kauai is so easy, there are only a few roads. All you have to do is head south or east or west and you get where you wanted to go. Heck, even if you get lost everywhere you go is beautiful. Today is going to be a pool day, I'm going to relax and do some reading.

Volcanoes

Volcanoes have always held significance for the MORI-Hawaii too, is rich in their lore. Pele , goddess of volcanoes, formed the Hawaiian islands during a battle with her sister, Namakaokahai. Finally victorious,Pele dug her final fire pit,Halemaumau Crater,in Kilauea Volcano and is said to live there to this day. ( Yeah its just another Steinlager coaster )

Inspired

Every wave has an original and unique size and shape. Once generated, it journeys across the vast pacific ocean, passing New Zealand and the Hawaiian Islands. These waves assisted in the ancient journeys of our early explorers. Today, surfers challenge these waves as they reach our islands, and know that if you miss a wave...it is gone forever. Pro Bowl is Hawaii

2010 will be the first time in 30 years the Pro Bowl will not be played in Hawaii.
The Pro Bowl is Hawaii, this island loves the game and needs the Pro Bowl. I hope
after 2010 the NFL moves the game back to Hawaii where it belongs!

I woke up this morning and booked flights on Hawaiian air. My flight landed on Oahu at 1021. I jumped in a Limo with a guy from Minnesota and 2 guys and a girl from New York. On the short drive to the game, Paul one of the guys from NY game me a free ticket to the game. Face value $175.00! The seat was awesome. out of the sun on the 10 yard line. I'm glad I went to the game, for a Pro Bowl game it was pretty good.

KILAUEA LIGHTHOUSE, KAUAI

Aloha,
The Kilauea Lighthouse was built in 1913 The beam of light could reach 90 miles out to sea, its lens was the largest of its type for the time.
The Lighthouse was turned off in 1976 and placed on the National register.

Checked in

Long day today! Woke up at 0700 got on the computer and checked the loads for my trip from SFO to LIH. Showed 10 open in FC and 5 open in YC. I went to the airport fairly relaxed and ready to enjoy my vacation. So I'm sitting in the gate room drinking my coffee and the gate agent makes the normal announcements, along with this disturbing phrase. "anyone looking to travel standby we will not be able to accomadate you today, there is the Pro-Bowl in Honululu and all the flights are over sold". I hate when they do this, why do they do it? I saw some people leave the gate area. I stayed and called work to see what the computer showed, it showed what I saw at 0700. I stayed and got on, it was full but I made it. I had 32B and was not happy. The middle seat is the friendship seat, this is a five and a half hour flight. Then a couple came down the isle and the girl asked if I would mind the isle as she wanted to sit next to her husband, yes! I ended up in an isle. Rental car went way smooth, Alamo rocks! Had lunch in Princeville and checked into the resort. Picked up some beer and wine and looking forward to relaxing. Tomarrow is a long run in the morning followed by the pool.

First Class

First Class seems like it might be a thing of the past for airline employees. (along with other things)
Flight 149 is a 777 going from Chicago to San Fran at 1505. The aircraft holds 36 first class and 312 coach. At 11oo this morning there were only 17 customers in first and I was looking forward to flying first class to San Fransisco. Well, its 1245 now and First Class is booked to 36! I can only hope for Economy plus now, or at least an isle seat. Some people might be happy just getting on the flight, I'm a little spoiled. The vacation is not starting out great. Well it turned out to be 39H, at least it was an isle seat. I watched Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid on the way to San Fran, what a great movie. Paul Newman and Robert Redford are awesome in this film. I'm at the Best Western El Rancho inn SFO, I better have better luck on my flight to Hawaii tomorrow.
